We may actually win on something important

The concealed handgun bill was up today but nothing happened. I checked with some of the staffers and they said that those in favor of the bill no longer think they have enough votes. Last night Linda Lewis and myself sent the list of bill sponsors to everyone we could think of. We used facebook to send to a lot of media types and political folks of the liberal persuasion. People called all night.

PLEASE keep calling and or emailing tonight if you get this. Post it on your Facebook page if you have one and send it to anyone you think will email or call. The bill is on the agenda again for tomorrow. If it does not pass tomorrow we have all weekend to keep the heat up.

If it does not pass tomorrow TSTA is going to send it to their members as well since many of them have children who are college students. While this might not seem like a big deal it is, because they are currently dealing with HB400 which takes away all of their rights as well as a bill that makes retired teachers pay 80% of their medical insurance.

Sorry this is so late, but I have been across the street most of the day.

I don't have time to rewrite them so I am simply going to attach the two previous emails I sent: one is the Criminal Justice Committee Members and the other is The Bill Sponsors. Concealed Handgun Senate Floor.doc
